PublishAmerica - Contract & Services Reviewed in The Fine Print of Self-Publishing
FORMAT OF BOOKS: Paperback
GENRES ACCEPTED: PublishAmerica considers most fiction and nonfiction, although it will not print theses, coffee table books, screenplays, textbooks, or books of quotations.
PUBLISHING FEES: PublishAmerica claims to operate like a traditional publisher and, therefore, assesses no publishing fees. However, the publisher's contract terms are so outrageous that, with the exception of not charging up-front fees, it really has little in common with traditional publishing.
I would love to tell you all about PublishAmerica's publishing services, but I can't. My research assistant emailed some basic questions using both their online email form under the "Contact Us" tab (twice) and a direct email to their Acquisitions Department (about which, for the record, the website says, "Use this address if you are a new author and would like to find more about PublishAmerica"—good luck with that). We received no response to any of these email inquiries.
NOTE: The complete review of PublishAmerica contains information about the real costs of publishing with this company, including printing fees, royalties, contract terms and overall rating To read it, you need to buy the book.
